PRESIDENT TRUMP AGREES: MAIL-IN ABSENTEE BALLOTS ARE SAFE AND SECURE

VOTE SAFE PLANS SIX-FIGURE DIGITAL SPEND BEHIND NEW TRUMP AD

Washington, D.C. – Today, VoteSafe released a new ad featuring President Donald Trump declaring his full support for absentee voting. View the 15 second ad here.

In the ad, Trump is heard telling supporters in part, “Absentee voting is a secure process and every voter is verified, every vote is verified.”

Confusion has mounted in recent weeks as the President praises absentee ballots but attacks Vote By Mail. The security processes that underlie the systems are identical. Many states have moved toward expanding voting options amidst the pandemic, including increased access to vote by mail options like absentee ballots.

VoteSafe is a national, bipartisan coalition chaired by former Secretary of Homeland Security and Pennsylvania Governor Tom Ridge (R) and former Michigan Governor Jennifer Granholm (D). VoteSafe is committed to the following principles:

  • All states and US territories should ensure voters have accessible, secure mail-in ballots and safe, in-person voting sites.
  • Congress should ensure that states have the resources they need to protect their voters and elections.
